Hi everyone! Just a little background information about me.

 

I am, amongst many other things a writer of children's fiction. I was born in Wolverhampton, an area of the Black Country situated in the West Midlands, England in the early 1950s.

All my life I have always loved stories, being an avid reader throughout my childhood and beyond I read everything from the comics of the day, the novels by Enid Blyton; particularly 'The Famous Five' books, and the works of J.R.R Tolkien.
My literary influences are many and varied and to this day I still enjoy nothing more than a book which will  take me on a journey of pure escapism, particularly novels about fantasy and magic such as those written by Terry Brooks, J.K. Rowling and G.R.R Martin, although I do like to read books from many other genres.

After a teaching career spanning twenty five years I decided to retire and enjoy other activities such as writing, reading, drawing and painting, and pursuing another of my passions as part time musician, playing loud blues based rock music. Not too bad for an old guy eh?

I currently live happily in Staffordshire England with my wife of 48 years, my grown up daughter, two cats and any kids who we happen to be caring for .
My one odd little quirk is my ever growing collection of guitars and long necked stringy things which appear at times to take over the house, much to my wife's annoyance!
